About

Anne

A family trip to New Zealand during high school introduced me to the world beyond the United States and she has not stopped engaging the global community. Anne is a development and alumni engagement professional with nearly 25 years of experience in both large and small institutions. Leading change and building success through best practice operations of engaging alumni and parent constituents are keys to advancing the mission of non-profit organizations. Anne leads by example and builds diverse teams which achieve annual and long-term goals while nurturing long standing transformational donor relations with the institution. Prior to joining the American School in Japan in January 2024, Anne led development teams at DePauw University and Case Western Reserve University. When she is not engaging with the ASIJ community you will find Anne traveling in her new home, Japan and beyond in Southeast Asia.

We asked

her

a few questions...

What is the most rewarding part about working in Advancement at ASIJ?

ASIJ is a community of educators, leaders, doers, and makers who share a passion for shaping tomorrow's leaders today. In my work with the advancement team I am privileged to build and share the stories of impact with our friends, alumni, donors, and parents. I am rewarded each day with the achievements of my teammates, colleagues and students and have the honor of sharing the ASIJ story around the globe.

Gifts to ASIJ build on the legacy of nearly 125 years of educating students, would you share why giving to ASIJ is important?

Parents, alumni and friends of ASIJ have given back to the school since its founding in 1902, which is an incredible legacy that very few international schools are building upon. The generosity of our donors helps to maintain financial health to secure a tradition of academic excellence as we shape tomorrow's leaders today. Philanthropic gifts play an essential role in ensuring the mission endures for future generations of ASIJ students.
